Endorsed Candidate for Board of Education

Raised in Greenwich, Veronica has spent her entire career in education. From babysitting to coaching, to working with special education students at Greenwich High School (GHS), where she received the town’s community service award for her contributions. Veronica has had a passion for understanding children and how they learn. After graduation from GHS, Veronica went to Bucknell University where she received a BS in Sociology. She earned a master’s in social work from Columbia University and a master’s in both general and special education from Bank Street College of Education.
Veronica has been a classroom teacher, learning specialist and tutored in several private schools throughout New York City and in Greenwich. In these roles, she developed a deep understanding of curriculum, programs and effective strategies to teach all types of students. Currently, Veronica lives in Greenwich with her husband and three children. Her oldest is in 2nd grade at North Street School (NSS); her middle child will be entering Kindergarten at NSS in September; and her daughter will be starting a 2s program at Christ Church Preschool.
Although a busy mom of young children, Veronica advocates for students throughout the district, particularly in special education. She is the Special Education Support co-chair for Greenwich Public Schools (GPS), serves as secretary on the Board of Selectmen’s ADA & Advocacy Advisory Committee for People with Disabilities, is the Special Education Support building representative for NSS, is a voting member on Special Education Advisory Council, is on the Julian Curtiss School Building Committee, is a member of the Alumni Advisory Council at Greenwich Country Day School, and is on the Parent’s Association at Christ Church Preschool.
Veronica has a commitment and passion to partnering with schools and teachers to ensure that they are supported and that all children are receiving everything that they need to learn and reach their potential. She is eager to join the Board of Education to bring her expertise and experience to help ensure continued success of all students, faculty and staff within the Greenwich Public Schools.
