Special Bulletin
The Democratic caucus on the Board of Estimate and Taxation (BET) wants to hear from you!
Here’s everything you need to know to watch and participate in Tuesday’s budget presentation meeting:
WHAT
The First Selectman will present the town budget for 2025-26 followed by the Board of Education’s (BOE) school budget presentation. Then it’s time for your public comments.
WHEN
It all happens Tuesday, January 28th starting at 6:00 P.M. The public hearing is slated for 7:00 p.m. but will start when the budget presentations conclude.
WHERE
Greenwich Town Hall in the Town Hall Meeting Room (101 Field Point Road). You can also watch on Greenwich Community Television (GCTV) cable channels 24 (Verizon), 79 (Optimum) and on the GCTV YouTube channel.
This meeting is often standing room only and the fire marshal enforces the room capacity limit, so get there early for a seat. BET Democrats have asked for an overflow room, but it’s not clear if it will be made available. The recording will be on GCTV YouTube if you can’t catch it live.

HOW
To speak during the public hearing, put your name and topic on the sign-up sheet as you enter the Town Hall Meeting Room. You will have 3 minutes and will be called to speak in order of when you signed up. You can only speak during the public hearing if you attend in person. You can submit written testimony if you can’t be there. The form will go offline when the meeting ends, but you can email the BET at any time.
WHY
There’s a lot that impacts you in the half-billion dollar town budget. We just covered the highlights in our newsletter.
Your Democratic BET members, Leslie Moriarty (caucus leader), Elliot Alchek, Matt DesChamps, Scott Kalb, Stephen Selbst and David Weisbrod appreciate your engagement. See you there!
