About Bob Chaney

Endorsed Candidate for Board of Education

Bob Chaney has been a resident of Greenwich for 14 years.  He is happily married with two boys who are currently enrolled in the Greenwich Public Schools (GPS).  He previously managed a team at The American Cancer Society (ACS) in the Patient Service Center. He and his team provided outreach to, and received calls from, cancer patients and caregivers.  He also coordinated services and offered assistance in making their lives easier. During that time, Bob also volunteered his free time to assist at ACS events in and around the tristate area.  When his second child was born, he left ACS and has been at home raising his two boys who are currently enrolled at Central Middle School (CMS) and Greenwich High School (GHS).

Bob is currently an elected member of the Representative Town Meeting (District 11) and volunteers time through the PTA at both CMS and GHS. He is on the Board of Directors of both the PTA Council and the CMS PTA and at the Greenwich Alliance for Education. Bob is currently the Vice Chair on the Julian Curtiss Building Committee and was a former member on the Julian Curtiss Feasibility Committee, as well as previously serving as Co-President of the Julian Curtiss PTA. He has been speaking at Board of Education (BOE) and Board of Estimate and Taxation (BET) meetings for many years, advocating for what is best for our public schools.

Bob has an extensive knowledge of the public school operations in Greenwich and has personal relationships with many of the school staff and faculty in town. Bob is looking forward to joining the BOE and helping the Greenwich Public Schools be the best that they can be.
