Candidate for Constable
Dawn Fortunato is running for re-election for her 3rd consecutive term as a Town Constable. In 2018 she was unanimously approved by the Board of Selectmen to fill a vacancy through 2019. Fortunato has resided in Greenwich for 46 years is an alumnus of Greenwich Public Schools and holds a degree in criminal justice. Many may be familiar with Fortunato through her advocacy of environmental issues of soil contamination and health & safety concerns of the Greenwich Community as a whole. Fortunato served two terms on the RTM’s Land Use & Parks & Recreation committees and an alternate for the CDBG committee. In her second term she served as the right hand to District 3’s longtime former devoted Chairman, Tom Conelias, as the VP. Prior to volunteering on the RTM, she served two terms on the Hamilton Avenue School PTA Board as the VP of Communications & was tasked with the buildout of the school’s website & was primarily responsible for the weekly communications to parents. Fortunato plans to run for another term on the RTM during the coming election. She has two children that attend Greenwich Public Schools. In her spare time, she is an Educational Advocate/Consultant for families of children with special needs.
